STANLEY
AN ORIGINAL PLAY FOR BIDDENDEN

A two-part story about WW2 evacuees in Biddenden by David Waters from storylines by DannyWaters and Geoff Down. In the first part we see a bunch of London evacuees meeting what they see as the ‘country bumpkins’. They argue and fight over their ‘territory’ and share stories about the war. The Biddenden gang bully the evacuees and throw Stanley into a pond; believing him to be dead, they all run away. In part two we see them again fifty years later and hear their life stories. It soon becomes clear that Stanley has held a grudge ever since and has tried to ruin their lives. But Stanley has quite a surprise coming!
